Glass & Glazing Service in Edinburgh
Strong and robust sash and case windows are designed to last for a very long time. But, like all windows, the glass is susceptible to cracks and breakages, whether through deterioration over time or through an accidental or malicious act. Broken glass is one of the most common problems we are called to rectify. Replacing glass can be easily done and last for many years, if carried out by a qualified person. At Sash & Case Windows Direct, we offer a full glass and glazing service for a wide range of jobs and specialities.
For traditional sash and case windows, our glazing options include single glazing to replace glass on a ‘like for like’ basis. If you choose to upgrade to double glazing to provide extra insulation and noise reduction, there are various thicknesses to consider. This also helps to retain the traditional appearance of your windows. In many conservation areas and for listed buildings, this is sometimes the only double glazed option that is permitted, as the slim-line appearance looks very much like the original single glazed panes.
Options for double glazing are also restricted by the depth of your existing sashes, we do not fit double glazing into existing single glazed sashes but can offer other solutions. If glass breaks in one of your windows we understand that this is an instant security threat, as well as exposing your home and belongings to the cold and rain. We therefore offer a 24 hour call out boarding up service to ensure that your home is secured while replacement glass is being fitted.
Glass & Glazing Options
We also offer solutions for a range of glazing problems, such as misted windows where condensation appears between double glazed units. For specialist jobs, we offer a variety of specialist glass to fit the job, such as toughened or specialised glass, security glass etc.
Replacing glass is a very specialist trade. Our workforce is fully trained, with years of experience, to ensure that the job is carried out to a high standard. This will ensure that your new glass is fitted correctly and lasts for many years.
